We know that this may sound odd, but it actually tastes really good. Aside from the texture, you might even think you are actually eating tuna salad. If you have some extra seasonings that you enjoy, add them to this recipe!

Raw “Tuna” Salad Made From Sunflower Seeds

Ingredients

For the "Tuna"

  • 2 c raw sunflower seeds (soaked in water for an hour then drained)
  • 1 tbsp. dulse (seaweed)
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 tsp. raw apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp. fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp. sea salt

Optional Add-Ins

  • 1/2 c celery, chopped
  • 1/4 c onion, chopped
  • 1/4 c parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Add the sunflower seeds and the rest of the ingredients to a high speed blender or food processor and blend until you get a smooth paste. You can add a little extra virgin olive oil to aid the blending process.
  2. Add the paste to a bowl and combine with your desired add-ins. Enjoy immediately.
