It seems that clear skin, or how to achieve clearer skin, is the main topic of conversation these days. From commercials on TV to Instagram ads, you can’t escape the onslaught of information about how to keep your skin healthy. While nobody wants dull and unhealthy skin, what information do you take in and believe? There are natural oils and ingredients that can help you achieve glorious skin. Often times, though, it’s better to focus on improving skin via the diet. The reason for this is because fruits and vegetables contain many nutrients that contribute to healthier skin.
Beta-carotene, vitamins C & E, and zinc are some of the most beneficial vitamins and minerals for your skin. Vitamins C & E are powerful antioxidants that protect the skin from free radical damage. Beta-carotene exists in plants and the body converts it to vitamin A when consumed. Vitamin A works to protect the skin from harmful UV rays. Lastly, skin cells need zinc because the top layer of the skin has six times more zinc than the lower layers. Zinc may protect the skin from acne or excess inflammation.
