When we get sick or develop an illness, bacteria are almost always the culprits. Did you know that <strong>certain bacteria are linked to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dherbs.com\/conditions\/obesity\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">obesity<\/a>\u00a0and being overweight<\/strong>? According to a recent study, <strong>scientists have found a connection between your poop and types of body fat.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The study found that certain people have more bacteria in their feces than others. People with more diverse <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dherbs.com\/articles\/what-your-poo-says-about-you\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bacteria in their poop<\/a>&nbsp;were found to have healthier body types and lower levels of visceral fat. Those with fewer bacteria in their poop were likelier to have higher levels of visceral fat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dherbs.com\/articles\/mens-health\/feature-the-dangers-of-visceral-fat-and-7-ways-to-fight-it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Visceral fat<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>can have negative affects on your health because it sits around organs like the pancreas, liver, and intestines. <strong>Higher levels of visceral fat have been linked to greater risks of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dherbs.com\/articles\/fight-back-against-heart-disease-with-these-5-tips\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">heart disease<\/a>, diabetes, and obesity<\/strong>. Because visceral fat is linked to these top killers in America, it may be beneficial to look at actual fat measurements in people as opposed to just obtaining a person\u2019s Body Mass Index (BMI), which is a broad measurement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By discovering the link between less diverse bacteria in poop and obesity or other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dherbs.com\/store\/cardiovascular-p-16.html?sgst=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cardiovascular<\/a>&nbsp;risks, this may help to explain why health risks like these run in families. How these gut and fecal bacteria affect fat is still undetermined because the study was merely observational.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More studies need to be done to figure out <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dherbs.com\/articles\/wellness-prevention\/natural-healing-to-beat-obesityand-beat-cancer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ways to control obesity<\/a>. It is clear that <strong>different gut bacteria may influence a person\u2019s overall health<\/strong>. Using gut microbes (new bacteria for a person\u2019s gut) could eventually help bring obesity rates down. Future studies may even include fecal transplants, which may entirely change a person\u2019s gut bacteria for the better.
