Coconut oil<\/a>\u00a0has been trending for some time now. It has an aromatic, subtly sweet flavor that can enhance many Asian-inspired dishes. Refined coconut oil won\u2019t have as much coconut flavor, but we recommend the raw, virgin, unrefined coconut oil because it goes through less processing. Raw coconut oil can\u2019t handle very high temperatures so make sure to cook over low to medium heat when using it. Coconut oil can help boost your metabolism<\/a>, it\u2019s great for your skin<\/a>, and it helps support weight loss<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#2: Avocado Oil<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Avocado oil is great because you can cook with it at very high temperatures. You should not use this oil all the time because it does contain omega-6 polyunsaturated fats. Too much of these can cause inflammation in the body<\/a>. It is best used to flavor dressings<\/a>, dips, or preparing fajitas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#3: Extra Virgin Olive Oil<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This is the golden child, so to speak. Olive oil\u00a0is a heart healthy fat<\/a> and it has some pretty amazing health benefits. Personally, this is our go-to oil because it is so versatile. You can flavor dressings and sauces, or you can just cook with it. You can even put it in your hair to improve the health of your hair and scalp<\/a>. The great thing about olive oil is that you can flavor it by adding fresh herbs in the bottle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#4: Palm Oil<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When you buy palm oil, it is important to buy the oil that is sustainably sourced. A lot of palm oil comes from palm plantations, which have been accused of destroying the rainforest. NOT ALL PALM OIL RUINS THE RAINFOREST. It is made from the palm fruit, which is native to Africa. Go for the fair trade stuff. It has some great phytonutrients that are great for making your skin look young.<\/p>\n
