Many people are confused about how to take herbs. Here are some commonly asked questions:
How many herbs should I take from a specific formula?
Each DHerbs.Com formula label specifically instructs the user to do the following:
- Take three capsules. A person could take all 3 capsules of a formula at one time during the day, or divide those 3 capsules up and take them throughout the day. For example, they could take one capsule in the morning, afternoon and evening. At the end of a day, the person should have taken the recommended amount, three capsules.
- Regardless of the time of day, always take the capsules with water. If water is not available, then fruit juice, vegetable juice, or herbal tea will suffice.
Even though the bottle instructs to take three capsules daily, can I take less than three?
If you’re taking DHerbs formulas, three capsules are the recommended amount for the average person, but some of the formulas are very potent and sometimes certain individuals may not need to take three capsules. In this case, only take one to two capsules.
DHerbs.com encourages people to experiment with the dosage to see which dosage works best for them. Learning about the individual body and trusting the intuition is key. Only the individual can know how they feel. If there is an improvement after taking only two capsules, then stop at two capsules.
NOTE: During the Full Body Detox or any other 3-week regimen, you may feel the need to reduce the dosage. Five capsules may be too many, especially for beginners. Instead of taking five capsules, try taking four or three capsules. DHerbs.com recommends increasing or decreasing the dosage at any time. Doing this will prolong the regimen beyond twenty days but the herbs will have the same effects as long the raw foods diet is followed.
Can I take several different formulas at the same time?
DHerbs.com does not advise the consumption of various herbs, but it is fine to do so.
For example, if a person is taking Moon Cycle, Female Hormonal and Fibroid Buster, they will be consuming nine capsules in one sitting. Each bottle recommends three capsules of each formula.
First, make sure to take three capsules of one specific formula. Then, take three capsules of the next formula, and so on.
NOTE: During the DHerbs.Com 3-week regimens, the different formulas can be taken together but it is best to space them out, as suggested in the regimen’s booklet. If it is difficult to take 10-15 capsules at one time, then try taking them at separate times. These three week regimens include the Full Body Detox, Weight Release and Total Woman Cleanse. Herbs are natural foods so there are no safety precautions to worry about.
If the herbs are too potent, can I temporarily stop taking them?
Yes, of course. If the person is feeling overwhelmed with the number of capsules, then DHerbs recommends that they give themselves a break, preferable one to three days. Make sure to stick to the dietary regimen while on a break from the herbal supplements. As soon as the person feels comfortable again, they can pick up right where they left off.
Can I open up the capsules and consume the herbs with food or beverages?
Yes, but the herbs may have a very strong taste. The contents of the capsules may be poured into water, vegetable juice or fruit juice. They can also be mixed into food such as fruit.
I like drinking herbal tea-how many cups should I drink?
Tea is very safe to drink so there is no limit to how much someone should drink. Listen to the body and give it what it needs.
How many dropperfuls of liquid herbal extract should I take?
For the extracts or liquid formulas, DHerbs suggests taking 1 to 2 dropperfuls of a formula either under the tongue or in a glass of water. A dropperful means the squeezing of the black soft part of the dropper. Two dropperfuls means that the black soft part of the dropper should be squeezed two times.
When the dropper is first squeezed, liquid is drawn up into the glass part of the dropper. When the dropper is squeezed a second time, liquid is released.
How much of an extract should we give a baby or child?
The amount is listed on the bottle: 1 or 2 dropperfuls. For a small baby, add one dropperful to a container of water and shake well. Then allow the baby to drink. For a small child, add one or two dropperfuls to the child’s cup, shake or mix well and allow the child to drink.
