These raw vegan fudge pops are similar to a chocolate avocado smoothie or pudding, in that the avocado is completely undetectable. It flies under the radar of your taste buds and all you taste is chocolatey deliciousness. They are easy to whip up and magical once frozen. With warmer weather gracing us, there has never been a better time to make these pops. Perfect for a backyard barbecue, movie night, or children’s birthday party!

The last thing you want to do is use unripe avocados to make these fudge pops. Not only will your pops not be creamy, but they will also have a slightly bitter flavor, which you do not want from a dessert. Make sure your avocados are ripe and quite soft to the touch, but you don’t want them overripe either. Blend the avocados with the rest of the ingredients until completely smooth. Once the mixture is smooth, you can poor it into the popsicle mold. Cover the mold with the lid and insert the popsicle sticks, or you can use the sticks that come with the mold if you have that type of mold.

If you are not the biggest avocado fan and want to start eating more of them, this is a great entry point because you cannot taste it. Rich in omega-3 fatty acids, avocados work to benefit heart health by lowering LDL (bad) cholesterol, triglycerides, and blood pressure. They also contain a variety of B vitamins, including thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), and niacin (B3), all of which help the body convert food into energy. Niacin, specifically, can fight inflammation and protect arterial health by improving triglyceride and cholesterol levels.

For anyone looking to take their breakfast game to healthier heights, look no further than overnight oats. This is a simple, nourishing dish that is great for busy professionals, health enthusiasts, and families alike. An overnight oats recipe typically contains lots of fiber, protein, healthy fats, complex carbohydrates, and other vitamins and minerals, making it a great dish to begin the day. Not to mention, you do all the prep work at night so that your breakfast is ready to go whenever you need it in the morning. Because it is in a jar or bowl, you can take it to go if you are in a rush.

This recipe combines the indulgent, slightly bitter flavor of raw cacao powder with a handful of other nutrient-dense ingredients, including almond milk, chia seeds, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and optional toppings. Creating this overnight oats recipe is a fairly straightforward process. Before you prep any of the ingredients, though, make sure that you have a mixing bowl, measuring cups and spoons for accuracy, a whisk or mixing utensil, and mason jars or airtight containers for storage. Once you have your kitchen essentials, you can prepare the overnight oats.

Begin with rolled oats and whisk in your unsweetened almond milk. The liquid works to hydrate the oats and create a creamy consistency. Incorporate the cacao powder, which is crucial for the chocolatey flavor. It also gives the overnight oats a generous boost of antioxidants. Chia seeds work to thicken the oats, while adding valuable omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, and protein. Finally, the vanilla extract adds another dimension of flavor, complementing the natural sugars in the maple syrup.

If you want to pack a lot of fruits and vegetables into one meal, make a smoothie. If you want to fill up on an assortment of valuable nutrients, make a smoothie. In case the point isn’t clear, we love smoothies, especially one that is as nutrient-dense and delicious as this recipe. This smoothie is packed with protein, fiber, healthy fats, complex carbohydrates, antioxidants, and numerous vitamins and minerals. It is smooth, rich, and creamy just like a milkshake!

Most smoothies use banana as the base with the intension of creating a creamy texture with natural sweetness. This smoothie includes a frozen banana, but it also incorporates avocado, which contributes to the creaminess. Ideally, freeze both the banana and avocado overnight. Make sure to peel and slice the banana and avocado prior to freezing. If you freeze both of these ingredients with the peels on, you will regret it. If you already have some frozen banana or frozen avocado on hand, feel free to include that in the smoothie. You may already have packaged frozen avocado or banana, which you can use as long as there are no added ingredients.

If you are all about the chocolate life, you may want to consider making your own raw vegan chocolate almond milk or cashew milk. The way to do this is very similar to a traditional nut milk recipe, only you whisk in raw cacao powder until smooth. Because raw cacao powder has a bitter taste, you may need to add some extra grade A maple syrup or raw agave nectar to your homemade chocolate milk. If that sounds like a few too many steps, feel free to just add raw cacao powder to the smoothie with the homemade almond milk. Don’t have the energy to make almond milk? Use water instead!

It’s the middle of March, which can only mean one thing: St Patrick’s Day is nearly here. There is a certain food establishment that serves the classic Shamrock Shake annually. You know the one, right? There are golden arches, or something like that (wink wink). The main thing we want is for you not to succumb to the temptation. Don’t let curiosity get the better of you because one of those small shakes contains the following nutrition:

  • Calories: 500
  • Total carbohydrates: 82 grams (g)
  • Protein: 11 g
  • Total Fat: 14 g
  • Cholesterol: 55 milligrams (mg)
  • Calcium: 380 mg
  • Potassium: 500 mg
  • Sodium: 160 mg

For reference, the shake is made with vanilla ice cream, a sugary processed syrup, and whipped cream. This recipe doesn’t contain any of those things, because we actually care about your health. The good news is that there are many different ways to create your own shamrock shake. You just have to keep an open mind about your food, and all that you can do with it.

This shake is not really a shake; rather, it’s a smoothie. Avocado contributes to the green color, but so does the spinach and mint. Avocado is a great smoothie ingredient because it helps make it more creamy, while also adding protein, healthy fats, magnesium, potassium, and vitamin C. Don’t worry…you won’t taste it at all, especially since this smoothie also contains bananas, which provide natural sweetness. The touch of raw cacao powder is optional, but it provides the classic mint chocolate combo that a shamrock shake is.

‘Tis the season for holiday treats and countless sweets. Unfortunately, that mentality is why people tend to gain weight this time of year. The sweets and treats have a little something to do with that weight gain as well. They are not nutritious and tend to contain a lot of empty calories, so you keep coming back for more because they are usually made of refined sugars and carbs. We still want you (and our cleansers!) to enjoy some holiday goodies, which is why we are giving you this recipe for chocolate gingerbread energy bites. Think of them like healthier cookies!

If you were looking for a cookie swap, these gingerbread energy bites are your bet bet. They contain raw almonds, Medjool dates, raw cacao, and a handful of spices that make them taste like holiday cookies. If the mixture gets a little dry, you can add a tablespoon of raw almond butter or water to. help it along. Additionally, you can soak the almonds and dates in water a little while before you blend the ingredients together in the food processor. Soaking will soften the nuts and dates, which eases the blending process.

Now, some people prefer chunky cookies, while others enjoy soft cookies that are easy to eat. The same applies to nut butters. Do you prefer chunky or smooth? Whichever you version you enjoy is the right one! You can blend the ingredients until you achieve a texture that you are happy with. Once you achieve your desired texture, wet your hands and roll the mixture into bite-size balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and then place them in the freezer to harden. We hope you love them! Let us know in the comments below!

Have you ever taken a spoon to a pint of non-dairy ice cream and been utterly disappointed? If this unfortunate situation has happened to you, prepare to be amazed by a homemade dairy-free ice cream that is just as smooth and creamy as it is delicious. Some ice cream manufacturers just can’t seem to crack the code on texture. That’s why vegan ice creams are typically hard, icy, and not creamy like traditional dairy ice cream. The raw macadamia nuts help establish a creamy, nutty base for this to be one of the better raw vegan ice creams out there.

Macadamia nuts are rich in various vitamins, minerals, fiber, antioxidants, healthy fats, protein, and other nutrients. Researchers have found that macadamia nuts contain some of the highest flavonoid levels of all tree nuts. These antioxidant compounds work to fight inflammation and lower cholesterol levels. Macadamia nuts are also rich in tocotrienols, a form of vitamin E that exhibits antioxidant properties that may benefit cholesterol levels. Additionally, tocotrienols may protect against brain diseases and certain cancers.

One key step that you should not forget about while making this recipe is soaking the macadamia nuts. Take the extra two to four hours of soaking time in order to make your ice cream that much creamier. By soaking the nuts, you help soften them, which makes them easier to blend. Finally, use a food processor to blend your ingredients together, as this kitchen tool is better than a blender in this circumstance. Just make sure that you stop blending, scrape down the sides, and continue blending to incorporate all the ingredients!

It’s time that we take a break from avocado chocolate pudding because we have posted a handful of those recipes. This recipe, which is also raw vegan, requires five minutes of your time, a blender or food processor, and the ingredients. It is a decadent dessert that is the perfect balance of bitter and sweet, due to the raw cacao powder and maple syrup combo. It’s just beautiful that you can satisfy your craving for chocolate while cleansing. If we can provide that type of freedom for you, we will!

Chocolate in the form of a rich chocolate pudding is something to smile about. It isn’t as rich as fudge and you don’t have to feel guilty about eating it. This pudding is far from the unhealthy processed ingredients that you find in chocolate bars. It is also unlike other pudding recipes, which typically require cooking and simmering on the stove. That doesn’t work when you want chocolate and you want it now! This takes the elongated cook time out of the equation, so you only have to blend the ingredients until smooth and creamy.

Cashews, as you probably know, are quite amazing. They provide healthy fats, fiber, protein, minerals, and vitamins, but they also make a great base for puddings. If you want an easier time blending them, consider soaking them in water for about two hours before you make this recipe. Just make sure to discard the soaking liquid prior to blending everything together. Finally, make sure to top your pudding with things you like to eat, so long as they are cleanse-approved. Consider topping the pudding with raw nuts or fresh berries!

Drinking a smoothie is one of the best ways to get a healthy dose of fruits and veggies in one fell swoop. The best thing about this smoothie is that it tastes like a milkshake. It’s as though you are not even drinking something healthy, but then you see the ingredients and realize that each one exhibits impressive health benefits. This smoothie is as chocolaty as it is healthy, offering lots of protein, healthy fats, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals.

Unlike most smoothies, this chocolate creation does not have a banana base; rather it uses avocado, which enhances the creaminess. Don’t worry, though, your smoothie will not taste like a large cup of guacamole. You will not even know that the avocado is in the smoothie because the raw cacao powder, fresh raspberries, grade A maple syrup, vanilla extract, and homemade almond milk mask the avocado’s mild flavor. To help enhance the level of creaminess, we suggest that you cube the avocado and freeze it overnight. Now, some stores sell frozen avocado, which you can have while cleansing, so long as there are no preservatives or added sweeteners.

The key with this smoothie is getting the right consistency. You can always add some ice if the smoothie is too thin, or a little extra almond milk if the smoothie is too thick. Feel like you need some extra fiber in your life? Consider adding a tablespoon or less of chia seeds of flax seeds. Need it to be sweeter, add a squeeze of maple syrup at a time and taste until it reaches your desired level of sweetness. You may not even need the sweetener, but that depends on your taste preferences. The main thing is that we hope you enjoy this delicious creation.

Trick-or-treating on Halloween is a time-honored tradition for many children. The costumes and decorations seem to get more impressive as the years go by. People become heavily invested in transforming their front lawns into clown mayhem. Others prefer to go all-out with their costumes and let other people go to the extravagant level with home decorations.

That’s all well and good and enjoyable for all, but we haven’t touched on the hot topic that all parents discuss on this unofficial holiday: candy. As a general rule, it’s wise to have a good balance of healthy food and junk food. For children, proper nutrition is integral for their growth, development, learning, and overall health. Some children have a fairly decent understanding of candy and only need a couple pieces to satiate their sweet tooth. Other kids continue to open wrappers and shove their faces full with any sweet creation they collected while trick-or-treating.

About 89% of children participate in Halloween activities, so it is important for parents to have some tricks of their own. Kids will undoubtedly wonder why they cannot have more treats, so you need a few ideas to avoid sugary meltdowns. Continue reading for some helpful information and a few surprisingly fun and enjoyable treats.

Don’t Forget Halloween Traditions

Candy is but one focal point of Halloween, and we encourage you not to forget other fun traditions. Get your children involved with decorating the house, carving pumpkins, or have them contribute to their own costume creation. That will usually inspire them to carry these traditions through the rest of their lives. Perhaps they become thrifty creative types who go all out on costumes every year!

Find Other Uses For Candy

There are many programs available if you want to donate candy to troops, sell it, or even give it away. If you do not want the candy your child collects to go to waste, you can freeze it or even bake with certain types. Since the holidays are around the corner, you may consider making gift baskets with the candy.

Set Limits

Do not let your child keep the candy in their bedroom. You should keep the candy in a secret location in the kitchen. Children are crafty and may find ways to sneakily steal some candy, especially if you keep it off limits for good. Do your best to divide the Halloween haul into small portions and put limits on the amount your child eats. That way you are not denying them their treasure; rather, you are letting them enjoy it in moderation.

Keep Your Expectations Realistic

Around the time of Halloween, children will eat sweet stuff, be it at school, at home, while visiting a shop, or after trick-or-treating. You may expect some Halloween trading to happen during school lunches. Or perhaps they enjoy a small treat after dinner. Just set expectations that your children will have some candy. Depriving them of that candy may actually cause negative outcomes.

Halloween lands on October 31, but the entire month is Halloween Safety Month. This is a good time to talk with your children about safety while they are out trick-or-treating. It is also a good idea to educate your children about portion control and the effects of sugar. To help enjoy healthier treats than candy, here are a few fun Halloween-themed recipes

Halloween Banana Ghosts And Clementine Pumpkins

A little chocolate never hurt anyone! That is especially true if you pair the chocolate with bananas and clementines. You can’t give these out to trick-or-treaters, but you can make them for your own household!
