If you are looking to incorporate lighter, fresher ingredients into your daily diet, this is a great recipe to have in your back pocket. The sweet, tangy, and refreshing flavors exemplify springtime. It is a zesty combination of ingredients, one of which does not receive the credit it should. We are, of course, talking about the watermelon radish. It is the star of the show in this salad, providing a crisp and slightly sweet flavor with a beautifully striking pink color that contrasts the rest of the ingredients.

Unlike a traditional radish, which is also in this salad, the watermelon radish has a mildly sweet flavor, although it does have a slight peppery kick. Not only is watermelon radish visually stunning, but it is also a nutritional powerhouse. It contains significant amounts of vitamin A, as well as vitamin C, both of which act as antioxidants in the body. Watermelon radish is also a great source of potassium, a mineral that works to regulate blood pressure and support heart health. Surprisingly, this little pink radish is a rich source of fiber, which helps regulate bowel movements and aids digestives function. A diet rich in fiber can also help control blood sugar levels, support weight management, and lower LDL cholesterol levels.

With ingredients like watermelon radish in the mix, it would be a crime to refer to this recipe as a simple salad. That said, it is very easy to make. You don’t want to end up with large chunks of watermelon radish, as it can be quite laborious to chew. For this reason, use a mandoline slicer to create even, thin slices. You can also use the mandoline for the regular radish, but be careful not to cut your fingers.

Get ready for a raw vegan slaw to pull you out of whatever slump your in. This isn’t some dish that just hides in the corner while you carry on with the rest of your meal. This is the main event! You get a forkful of crisp cabbage, tropical mango, herbaceous cilantro, and zesty lime, refreshing your palate with every bite. This mango slaw offers a hint of spice and a sweet tang. It’s truly the dinner hero you didn’t know you needed, but you didn’t hear that from us.

This recipe works for many reasons, the primary of which is that you get a burst of tropical flavor in every single bite. The mix of sweet mango, crisp cabbage, red onion, and carrots is just plain satisfying. Once the prep is complete, you can toss the slaw together in a matter of minutes. You can even dress the slaw and let it marinate for 30 minutes or so prior to serving. That allows the flavors to get to know each other a bit before you enjoy the raw slaw. Don’t worry about the dressing making the ingredients soggy because the ingredients are sturdy enough to hold up well before you plate.

When it comes to the mango, you want to make sure that it is ripe so that you have a sweet element. An unripe mango will be bitter and more difficult to chew. Not only does a ripe mango provide a soft bite and seductive sweetness, but it also pops with vibrant yellow color on the plate. A quick citrus dressing made with avocado oil, fresh lime juice, and some seasonings ties everything together. We hope this slaw makes an appearance at your next weeknight dinner.

The winter months can be a little dark and chilly. Why not invite some color and zest into your life by making a refreshing, seasonal fruit salad? This fruit salad will help brighten any gray, gloomy winter day. It contains crisp apples, juicy mandarins, bright pomegranate arils, soft pear, tart kiwi, and herbaceous mint. Now that’s what you call a bowl of nutrition! This bowl also offers you a little break from all of the heavy holiday dishes that are readily available this time of year. Set your body up for success when you enjoy this for breakfast.

Various cultures have enjoyed fruit salads for centuries, typically adopting whatever fruit is in season. During the winter months, tropical fruits are harder to find, depending on your location. Temperate fruits like apples and citrus varieties take center stage. Pomegranate is also a classic winter fruit that is associated with renewal and abundance, especially in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cultures. In fact, those cultures use pomegranate arils to brighten both sweet and savory dishes. You’ll love this fruit salad for the following reasons:

  • It is quick and easy to make, coming together in less than 15 minutes.
  • The bright colors and sweet and tart flavors make it a hit at the breakfast table or holiday gatherings.
  • You can make it ahead of time and enjoy it later because it tastes even better after sitting in the fridge for a couple hours.
  • It pairs beautifully with chia pudding, overnight oats, or oatmeal.
  • You can customize it by using other seasonal fruits that you enjoy.
  • It is budget-friendly because it uses seasonal produce items, which are typically more affordable.

Get ready to enjoy a refreshing peach salsa that as visibly stunning as it is flavorful. It’s a unique take on the classic pico de gallo, combining the natural sweetness of ripe peaches with classic zesty, tangy, spicy salsa ingredients. Made with freshly diced peaches, this salsa incorporates red onion, jalapeño, cilantro, tomato, and lime juice, creating a perfectly balanced blend of sweetness, heat, and acidity. The result is a bright and inviting dip that enhances a variety of dishes.

The texture of this peach salsa is lively and appealing, offering juicy, tender peach cubes that provide a punch of natural sweetness with every bite. The addition of crunchy elements like diced red onion and crisp cilantro adds contrast, while the jalapeño brings a slight kick that elevates the overall flavor profile. Not a huge fan of spice? You can omit the jalapeño, or tame the spice by removing the seeds before dicing it up. Lime juice not only adds acidity, but also helps to bring out the freshness of the ingredients, making the salsa especially vibrant and lively. It also works to reduce that allium flavor in the onion.

This salsa is perfect for summertime gatherings or any occasion that calls for a light, refreshing appetizer. Not only is it incredibly versatile, but it is also easy to prepare. The sweet and spicy notes make it a delightful accompaniment for those seeking a fresh, fruity twist. Don’t be afraid to just dive in and treat it as the delicious dip it is!

If you look at the ingredient label on a pint or quart of ice cream, you will notice a long list of ingredients, with sugar being high on the list. The more complicated your flavor (think moose tracks, or sea salt caramel with chocolate swirl), the more sugar and ingredients the ice cream has. This apricot sorbet is the opposite of that. Not only is it free of excess sugar, but it also doesn’t contain stabilizers or other preservatives. It is pure, raw vegan goodness!

When life gives you apricots, you make apricot sorbet, because you sure can’t make lemonade out of apricots! Apricots have a slightly tart and sweet flavor profile, but every now and again, you can come across a batch with subpar flavor. Sure, you could dehydrate that batch to make dried apricots, or you could turn the apricots into a magnificent sorbet. We did exactly that because making sorbet is very simple and requires almost none of your time. You simply blend the ingredients together, add them to a freezer-safe container, freezer until firm, and then scoop to enjoy.

From start to finish, this sorbet takes about 10 minutes to prep and blend. Make it a little after lunch and it’ll be ready to enjoy by the time you finish eating dinner. Even though the sorbet is sweetened with maple syrup, it is not overly sweet. The fresh lemon juice brings a zesty acidity, so the sorbet is not overly sweet. It is beautifully creamy and smooth, so make it now while apricots are in season. Get them before they leave supermarket shelves!

Vegan Brazilian limeade is the refreshing, dairy-free twist on the traditional Brazilian classic “Limonada.” Unlike traditional limeade that is only made with lime juice, sweetener, and water, Limonada is a vibrant drink that utilizes the entire lime fruit (even the peel), sugar, and condensed milk. In this recipe, we leave the granulated sugar and condensed milk behind and use incredibly creamy coconut milk, which creates a delightful balance of sweet and tropical flavors. It is the perfect vegan drink for warm weather. Sip it at a backyard BBQ or with a friend by the pool!

To prepare this vegan take on Brazilian limeade, you will need two limes. Make sure to clean them well because you will be using the entire fruit. If you do not feel comfortable using the peel, you can remove it. Blending the limes with coconut milk adds a smooth, slightly sweet, and nutty undertone to the drink. For the sweetener, we listed pure maple syrup, but you can use agave syrup if you prefer that flavor. You can also start with less sweetener, taste, and add more until you find the right balance. There should be a little zesty flare, though, so don’t let the sweetness overpower the limes.

This beverage not only offers a unique flavor profile but also provides nutritional benefits. Coconut milk is rich in healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals, making the drink both delicious and nourishing. Whether you serve this drink at tropical-themed parties, summer barbecues, or simply as a cooling refreshment for you and you alone, this vegan Brazilian limeade is a flavorful drink that captures the essence of summer.

Do you want to uplift your mood and create a calm space without plaguing your home with chemical fragrances? You came to the right place! With each spritz of this body mist, you detect floral and citrus notes that refresh the senses. The aroma also helps bring about a little vibrance to your day. It’s truly invigorating, light, and perfect for almost any occasion.

The combination of jasmine essential oil and orange blossom essential oil is very balanced. It isn’t one of those mists that overwhelms the senses. It’s a little zesty yet subdued in the best way. The refreshing scent lingers in the air without overpowering the environment. And the best part is that it is so easy to make. We are going to ensure that you have the right instructions and information necessary to make this mist, which captures the essence of late spring/early summer.

Creating The Body Mist

Before you make the mist, you have to source your ingredients. When it comes to essential oils, try your best to choose high-quality options that are pure. Not only will these offer the most vibrant scents, but also the most aromatic health benefits. Although you can use regular water for the mist, we recommend that you use distilled water, as it helps maintain the spray’s purity. It also allows the natural oils to be more present and doesn’t interfere with any potential impurities. For the mist, you will need:

  • Jasmine essential oil
  • Orange blossom essential oil
  • Witch hazel
  • Distilled water

The Benefits Of Jasmine And Orange Blossom Essential Oils

Jasmine and orange blossom essential oils offer their own unique aromas and health benefits. Jasmine’s floral scent can help create a sense of tranquility, which is why aromatherapists use it to elevate mood and establish a calming space. Inhaling jasmine’s aroma may help alleviate feelings of stress and anxiety.

Orange blossom essential oil offers a zesty and cheerful fragrance, which complements jasmine’s scent in a harmonious way. Known to stimulate and refresh, orange blossom essential oil may help bring about feelings of positivity and joy. Together, jasmine and orange blossom create a balanced blend that can help promote emotional well-being. Use it throughout the day if necessary!

Before we provide the recipe, there is one thing to note about witch hazel. If you do not have it in your possession, you do not have to include it in the spray. Witch hazel helps the body mist last longer, though. It also acts as an astringent, exhibits anti-inflammatory properties, and can help maintain a healthy skin barrier.

Homemade Body Mist

Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces distilled water
  • 1 tablespoon witch hazel
  • 10 drops jasmine essential oil
  • 10 drops orange blossom essential oil

Instructions:

  • Get an eight-ounce spray bottle (ideally glass) and pour about seven ounces of distilled water into the bottle. Add the witch hazel and stir to combine.
  • You want to make sure that you leave enough room in the bottle because a small air gap can allow for proper mixing.
  • Add the essential oils, screw on the top, and shake well to combine.
  • Store the body mist in a cool, dark place because that will help maintain the fragrance and integrity of the spray.

Are ready for a salsa that is so good that it’ll carry you all the way from spring through summer? Well, get your palate ready because you just clicked on that recipe! So zingy, zangy, zesty, and incredibly refreshing, this kiwi salsa will jazz up any night of the week. Say goodbye to any sluggishness that stems from colder weather when you enjoy this salsa bite after bite. It’s like sunshine for your taste buds!

You might be thinking, “How can I enjoy this salsa without chips if I am cleansing?” That’s a valid question, considering that you cannot have packaged chips during the cleansing process. You can, however, make your own dehydrated chips from root vegetables, such as sweet potatoes, zucchini, parsnip, and more. Use those vegetable chips as your dipping vessels to enjoy this addicting salsa. Alternatively, you can spoon this salsa into small lettuce cups and enjoy it that way.

For this salsa, choose kiwis that are ripe, or else your salsa will have a sour flavor profile. If green kiwis are too tart for your palate, consider using golden kiwis, as they have a sweeter flavor. Unlike other salsas that you are familiar with, this one contains ginger, which pairs beautifully with kiwi. Instead of using red onion, we opted for shallots because they exhibit a sweet mildness that doesn’t overpower the other ingredients. The savoriness of cilantro plays well off the slightly tart kiwi and, well, you can’t have a salsa without fresh lime juice. That’s the ingredient that ties everything together!

This lemon dressing may be new to our website, but it is already an all-time favorite. It has unique lemon flavor, which makes for a zesty eating experience. Tempered by sweet agave nectar and herbaceous parsley, this dressing goes great with a variety of salad ingredients. Pour it over a combination of romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, and bell peppers, or over shredded cabbage, shredded carrots, mandarin segments, and green onion. We love when a dressing is versatile!

Whisk lemon juice, lemon zest, olive oil, mustard powder, sea salt, pepper, and fresh parsley in a small bowl and you have your dressing. Prefer a dressing that is a little smoother? Feel free to add all of the ingredients to a blender and blitz until smooth. The good news is that the preparation method doesn’t change the zesty, delicious flavor. There is just so much to love about his lemon dressing, and here are a few reasons why:

  • Very easy to make: This dressing should not take you longer than five minutes to make. Plus, it only requires seven ingredients!
  • Endless possibilities: Is your salad in need of a boost? This dressing will elevate any salad to a whole new level! If you don’t want to use it as a salad dressing, consider using it as a marinade for roasted or grilled vegetables or tempeh.
  • Clean ingredients: Many store bought dressings contain a lot of problematic ingredients, namely saturated and trans fats, added sugars, excess sodium, and preservatives. These additives keep dressings shelf-stable for longer periods of time. Additionally, they tend to contain lower-quality oils and other ingredients to keep production costs down. This lemon dressing, however, contains simple, healthy ingredients that you can actually pronounce!
