Fresh peaches, sweetener, some lemon juice, and a jar…that’s all you need for this beautiful summer creation. This peach jam contains absolutely no preservatives or other chemical ingredients that you can’t pronounce, all of which are in store bought jams. You can gather as many peaches as you can and make a large batch, dividing it into smaller jars that you freeze and later defrost to enjoy throughout the year. Peaches don’t just have to be a summertime fruit to enjoy now that you have this recipe!

Maybe you are fortunate to have a peach tree in your yard. Perhaps you have a connection with a local farmer who has a plethora of peaches that he can’t get rid of fast enough. Whatever your peach source, guard it with your life! Obviously, you can enjoy peaches raw, but they can start to turn on you quickly. To prevent the fruit from going bad, you can make this simple peach jam. Peaches contain a good amount of sweetness, so you don’t need to add too much agave, but you can always adjust the amount based on the sweetness level of the jam.

The reason that you add lemons to the jam is because they contain natural pectin. This will help set the peach jam into the thick consistency that you know and love. Squeeze some fresh lemon juice and consider adding a little lemon zest for added flavor. For the peaches, just wash them, remove the pit, and chop them into smaller pieces. If your peaches do not have any bruises, feel free to leave the peel on. That said, you can always peel your peaches prior to making this jam. We hope you love it as much as we do!

There is nothing wrong with slicing up a peach and enjoying it as a snack. You can freeze the slices and add them to smoothies or add fresh peaches to summer fruit salads. All of that sounds perfect, but sometimes you have to think outside the box to celebrate the majestic peach during the height of its season. When you roast peaches, though, the natural sugars caramelize to create a delightful treat that surprises the taste buds in the best way possible. This is truly a way to transform a beautiful fruit into a warm, healthy dessert that everyone can enjoy.

If you have never experienced the wonder of roasted peaches, you are in for a real treat. The flavor seems to intensify with each bite, delivering a sweet and almost savory dessert. You can serve them on their own or with a fresh scoop of vegan ice cream. The refreshing chill of a fresh scoop of ice cream is the perfect match for the succulent roasted peach that you serve warm. If you are not a dessert person, consider serving roasted peaches as a breakfast or brunch side. In fact, they make quite an elegant addition to your breakfast or brunch spread.

Roasting peaches is a very straightforward process that you will surely master the first time you make the recipe. Once you do it, you will want to make the recipe again and again, each time putting your own flavor or spin on the dish. Like anything, practice makes perfect, but you can make this dish whether you are master chef or novice cook. Just make sure you do one thing for us: enjoy this recipe!

Free yourself from the store bought box of popsicles that is seemingly healthy and go straight for the good stuff with these refreshing pineapple possibles. All you need are three simple ingredients and about 15 minutes of your time. Well, you also need to have some patience because the popsicles need to freeze before you can enjoy them. In fact, we think that waiting is the hardest part of this entire recipe!

Popsicles make for the perfect summer treat, whether you want to cool off on a hot day or make healthy treats for the little ones. Not only are these pineapple popsicles raw vegan, but they are free of the unhealthy colors, syrups, and artificial flavors that most store bought popsicles have. They are also highly versatile, meaning you can add or subtract ingredients if you so desire. Just make sure that the ingredients you add are cleanse-approved if you still want this recipe to be raw vegan. You can add mango, passion fruit, or even berries!

When it comes time to pick your pineapple, make sure to choose a ripe one. The easiest way to do this is by pulling one or two of the central green leaves out of the top. If the leaves come out easily, then the pineapple is ripe and good to go. If it is hard to pull one out, the pineapple still needs time to ripen. Using a sweet pineapple is totally fine because of the fresh lime juice in the popsicles. It really goes well with pineapple sweetly tart flavor. We hope you love this recipe as much as we do. Tag us if you take a pic with one in the summer sun!

Is there a single food that’s a cool as a cucumber? Is summer even summer if you don’t incorporate refreshing, hydrating cucumbers into your diet? You can make a citrusy salsa, cold soup, cucumber noodle salad, or even an electrolyte-rich detox water. The cucumber is an essential summer ingredient that not only tastes crisp, but also has numerous health benefits

Health Benefits Of Cucumbers

The cucumber offers a refreshing, crisp taste and high water content. They help relieve dehydration by supplying the body with important electrolytes and phytonutrients. According to dietitians, it’s possible to satisfy 20-30% of the necessary fluid intake through diet alone. Foods like cucumbers and watermelons are greatly beneficial in this effort.

Cucumbers also offer phytonutrient compounds, lignans and cucurbitacins, which exhibit anti-cancer properties. According to recent studies, cucurbitacins may help block signaling pathways that are necessary for cancer cell multiplication and survival. One study found that they can inhibit the growth of pancreatic cancer cells. The lignans in cucumbers may protect against cancer by interacting with bacteria in the digestive tract. The research concluded that bacteria took lignans and converted them into enterodial and enterolactone compounds. These bind to estrogen receptors to reduce the risk of estrogen-related cancers, including endometrial, breast, and ovarian cancers.

As detailed earlier in this article, cucumbers can help hydrate the body. That’s great news for your skin, but you can also apply cucumbers topically. The reason that spas apply cucumbers to the eyes is because cucumbers work to decrease swelling and inflammation. If you need to decrease under-eye puffiness or remedy a sunburn, cucumbers are an excellent choice!

First and foremost, this is not a cleanse-approved recipe. We have to make that disclaimer so that people don’t post this recipe and say that they can enjoy it while cleansing. Can you enjoy a lovely bowl of garlic turmeric rice once you finish your cleanse? Yes, of course you can! In fact, this soft and fluffy turmeric rice is a great transitional meal that exhibits heavenly aroma and flavor in every bite. It contains garlic, onion, turmeric, and a few other ingredients that enhance the dish.

What is turmeric rice, or yellow rice? Depending on the region, this rice may be referred to by different names. There are variations within India, Middle Eastern countries, and several Asian countries. Different regions will add local spices or aromatics to flavor the dish. The signature yellow color typically comes from one of three spices: turmeric, annatto, or saffron. Those can be used interchangeably to give white rice that bright yellow hue. No artificial dyes here, folks! We banned them from our recipes long before RFK Jr. ever thought about it.

For this recipe, you will use turmeric powder, not the freshly grated turmeric root. You only need one teaspoon of turmeric powder, which adds a lovely earthly flavor that complements the garlic, coconut oil, and onion, which are the three primary components of the dish. The rice also cooks in low-sodium vegetable stock, which enhances the flavor. The best part, besides the intensely rich flavor, is that it comes together in just 20 minutes in one pot!

Oh my goodness! Is this about to be the best vegan treat of the holidays? Good tidings and even better flavors we bring to you and your kin. We wish you a happy holidays and an even happier eating experience. This vegan eggnog chia pudding recipe is not only delectable, but also creamy and filled with holiday spices. Unlike traditional eggnog recipes, this one is free of added sugars, preservatives, dairy, and unhealthy fats. It is also alcohol-free!

Sweets are all the rage during the holiday season. Would Christmas be what it is without a cup of hot cocoa and some cookies, or a glass of eggnog? Yes, of course it would! Don’t fall into that classic holiday mentality of “well, I only eat this during this time of year, so it is perfectly acceptable to have it whenever I want it.” Because people love their holiday treats, though, we decided to create one of our own. You can enjoy it for breakfast or eat it as a dessert. There is no wrong way to eat this eggnog chia pudding.

Because eggnog is very creamy and beautifully spiced, it lends itself to chia pudding. The hints of nutmeg and cinnamon almost give this chia pudding a flavor that is reminiscent to a classic rice pudding. Once the chia pudding sets, feel free to top it with your desired toppings. Sprinkle a little cinnamon on top, add some diced apples or sliced bananas, or drizzle some nut butter on top. Need a little crunch to this recipe? Add some slivered almonds or pumpkin seeds! Lastly, this recipe will keep fresh in an airtight jar or container in the fridge for up to five days, so you don’t have to enjoy it immediately when it is ready.

Homemade nut butter is just the way to go, folks. You only need two ingredients and a food processor to make a smooth and creamy nut butter that is free of preservatives and other unnecessary ingredients. Unlike store bought brands, this macadamia nut butter is free of palm oil, lectins, peanuts, and added sugars. That means that this nut butter is raw vegan, Whole30-approved, Paleo, grain-free, gluten-free, keto, and sugar-free. The subtle hint of sea salt perfectly complements the robust macadamia nuts.

Is homemade macadamia nut butter better than store bought varieties? While both are great options, making your own allows you to control the ingredients and blend until you reach your desired consistency. Perhaps you enjoy a nut butter that is just between chunky and smooth. Maybe you like nut butter to be velvety smooth, and you can have control over that when you make your own. Plus, homemade macadamia nut butter is nearly identical in price as the store bought version. Depending on which stores you have access to, you may or may not always see macadamia nut butter available. If you find raw macadamia nuts, though, you can transform them into a luxurious butter.

You will need a food processor for this recipe because a blender just won’t cut it. To achieve a smooth nut butter, you will probably have to blend for three to five minutes, stopping to scrape down the sides periodically. Just keep blending, scraping down the sides, and blending again until you achieve a smooth consistency. Once you are satisfied, spoon the butter into a container, seal the lid, and refrigerate. Use when ready.

Anyone in the mood for a….mocktail? This delicious creation is going to change your holiday party game. Whether you are hosting a party or attending one, you can make this tasty beverage and enjoy yourself without the extra sugar and calories that come with traditional alcohol beverages. This is also an excellent drink to enjoy if you are a friend of Bill W (a person who belongs to the Alcoholics Anonymous program, for those who didn’t get the reference).

This refreshing non-alcoholic beverage hits all the rate notes. It is sweet yet tart and bright with a festive finish. It hits all the right notes for special holiday occasions. You can celebrate the holidays or ring in the New Year with this refreshing beverage. Planning a dry January? This drink is perfectly suited for your newly sober lifestyle. You can even drink this with your kids, so long as you let them drink sparkling water.

Although the cranberries are optional, we encourage you to incorporate them into your beverage. The reason for this twofold: they make the drink more visually stunning and they add a subtle tartness to the drink. Plus, fresh cranberries are loaded with antioxidants and have a limited window of availability in grocery stores. You can even add fresh pomegranate arils to your drink for added visual appeal. Finally, make sure that you choose 100% pure pomegranate juice, as many store bought varieties can contain a lot of added sugars. Cheers to your health!

Finally, a potato side dish that does not have dairy! Potatoes are a staple ingredient in many kitchens around the world. There are Yukon gold potatoes, sweet potatoes, yams, Russet potatoes, red skin potatoes, and purple sweet potatoes. You can use potatoes in myriad ways, roasting them, boiling them for a mash, frying them, etc. We think, and although this recipe is a bit more tedious, that Hasselback potatoes are top tier. Do they contend with your favorite potato side dish? You’ll have to be the judge of that.

We love these Hasselbacks because they are visually exciting and taste incredible. Load them up with spices and feel free to add your own set of herbs to enhance the dish. As far as cooking goes, the process is very easy. You roast the potatoes in the oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for about 20 minutes and that’s that. The tedious element is how you cut the potatoes. The first thing you have to do is make sure that your knife is sharp. If your knife isn’t sharp, the preparation will be a lot more difficult. Once you have a sharp knife, take two wooden spoons and lay them flat on a cutting board.

One by one, place your potatoes between the handles of the spoons, ensuring that the potato is elevated about the cutting surface. Slice eighth-inch thick slices along each potato, making sure that you hit the spoon handles, not the cutting surface. Once your potatoes are successfully cut, toss them in a bowl with the olive oil and seasonings. Make sure you coat them liberally! Bake in the oven until soft (about 20 minutes) and then enjoy immediately.

When the days are slightly cooler, you want a meal that is warm, filling, and comforting. This kale soup is exactly the recipe you’ve been craving, whether you know it or not. It is a light broth that contains nutritionally dense ingredients and aromatic spices, such as thyme and rosemary. The squeeze of lemon gives this hearty soup a delicately bright finish that makes each spoonful better than the last. So if you are looking for a dish that is equal parts healthy, delicious, and cozy, this soup is it!

When it comes to making a great vegetable soup, it’s all about layering flavors. First and foremost, you have to sauté the aromatics. Cooking the onion, carrots, celery, and garlic with the rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper helps to give somewhat of a caramelized flavor. You don’t want to cook them fully; rather, you just want to par-cook them until they are nice and fragrant. You’ll add the beans and broth to the same pot and then bring to a boil before reducing to a low simmer. Only add the kale in the last few minutes of cooking, or else it will get too soft. You want the kale to retain some texture when you spoon the soup into bowls. The same goes for the lemon juice, because you want the soup to retain that tang when you slurp it up.

When it comes to kale, you can choose the variety you enjoy best. You can opt for green curly kale, Tuscan kale, lacinato kale, or even dinosaur kale. Don’t have kale on hand or can’t find it in the grocery store? You can swap it for another sturdy green, such as Swiss chard or collard greens. Just make sure to taste and season the soup as you go. Some of you may prefer more lemon juice, while others want to add more black pepper or rosemary. Feel free to experiment with flavors, even though this recipe is solid as a rock!
