The post How to Perform A Breast Self-Exam appeared first on Dherbs - The Best All Natural Herbal Remedies & Products.

]]>

A breast self-exam, or regular examination of your breasts by yourself, is one of the best ways to detect breast cancer early. Early detection is one of the best ways to treat the cancer successfully. Although self-examination may not detect all breast cancers early, doctors believe that regular self-exams, in combination with other screening methods, may detect breast cancer early.

How Reliable Are Self-Exams?

Not all experts agree that self-exams are valuable, or even reliable. A 2008 study that consisted of 400,000 women in China and Russia reported that self-examination did not impact breast cancer survival rates in a meaningful way. A 2015 study found that self-exams may be superfluous, increasing the performance of unnecessary biopsies that resulted from women “detecting” their own lumps.

A self-exam isn’t the deciding factor that determines a breast cancer diagnosis, so the American Cancer Society recommends additional screening methods. However, a breast self-exam may be a beneficial screening tool for women at average risk of developing cancer. They can be helpful for detecting lumps or areas that feel different. If you think that something is irregular in your breast(s), then it’s best to speak to your primary care provider for additional screening.

How To Do A Breast Self-Exam

As a starting point, pick the same time each month to perform your breast self-exam. If you are are menstruating, perform the breast self-exam after your period. For women who no longer menstruate or experience irregular periods, it’s best to pick a day each month. Pick a day that’s easy to remember, for example, the first or last day of the month. Once you establish when you are going to do a breast self-exam, following the steps below.

Step 1

In front of a mirror, stand up straight and place your hands on your hips. Notice if your breasts are their usual shape, size, and color. Breasts should not have visible distortion or swelling. If you see that a nipple changed position or notice redness, rash, swelling, dimpling, puckering, or bulging of the skin, bring it up with your doctor.

Step 2

Raise your arms and look for the same changes. While you are looking in the mirror, look for signs of fluid emerging from one or both nipples. The fluid could be watery, milky, yellowish, or even bloody. Once again, if you see any sign of fluid coming out of one or both nipples, consult your doctor.

Step 3

In addition to checking in front of a mirror, you can also perform a breast self-exam while lying down. Many health experts encourage this method of examination because the breast tissue spreads out evenly along the chest wall while lying down. Place a pillow under the right should and bring your right arm behind your head. Use the pads of your fingers on your left hand to gently cover the enter breast area and armpit. Apply light, medium, and then firm pressure, checking for lumps or bumps. Make sure to feel around the entire breast. You can also squeeze the nipple to check for discharge. Repeat on the left breast.

Step 4

Many women find that the easiest way to feel their breasts for examination is when the skin is slippery and wet. You can do this step in the shower. Stand up straight and raise your right arm above your head. Using the index, middle and ring fingers on your left hand, press every part of the right breast with light, medium, and then firm pressure. Notice any difference, including lumps, thick spots, or other changes. Just like in Step 3, feel around the entire breast, including the areola and nipple, checking for discharge. Repeat these steps on your left breast.

If you happen to find a lump in your breast, the last thing you want to do is freak out. Many women have some lumps or lumpy areas in their breasts, and they turn out to be benign. There are numerous causes of non-cancerous lumps, including hormonal changes or injury. If you notice a lump or other breast change that is worrisome, don’t hesitate to call your doctor. If you make an appointment, you may have to undergo ultrasound or mammogram for imaging.

The post Why Thermography Is The Best Way To Check For Breast Cancer appeared first on Dherbs - The Best All Natural Herbal Remedies & Products.

]]>

When it comes to women’s health, checking for breast cancer is one of the most important annual exams a woman can get. It’s a fact that one in eight American women will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. Are regular breast exams the most efficient way to check for breast cancer, though? Traditional exams could be doing more harm to your body than good.

The key to survival is all about early detection. When you discover breast cancer in its early stages, 95% cure rates are possible. This is why thermography is the best and least harmful breast exam you can get. Using digital infrared imaging (DII), thermography observes the varying thermal and vascular patterns. To put it simply: each person’s infrared map of his or her breast tissue is like a fingerprint. The camera can find any change or abnormality and actions can be taken from there.

Why Thermography Is Effective

First off, 20% of cancers are not detected by mammography. Mammograms, ultrasound, MRI, and structural imaging tools use radiation. Did you know that one mammogram is equivalent to 500 chest X-Rays? This damages breast and hormonal tissues. Considering breast cancer can be caused by a hormonal imbalance, doesn’t damaging hormonal tissue seem counteractive?

Thermography is logical technology and can detect breast cancer within the first year, as opposed to the fifth year, which is when normal exams detect the cancer. This is because mammograms and ultrasounds look for tumors, whereas DII focuses on blood vessel activity. Just as regular exams are recommended annually, so are thermography exams, but the age at which you should get these exams is different than the recommended age.

Most breast cancer cases are in women between ages 35-45. If the recommended age to get checked is 40, isn’t that a little late? With diets rich in processed foods, chemical additives, and GMOs, teenage girls and boys have been getting breast cancer. Because thermography doesn’t use radiation, it can be done at any age. Exams should begin around puberty or in adolescence because of hormonal changes.

You may be thinking, “Why isn’t this technology more popular?” Well, it gained popularity in the 70s, 80s, and 90s, but certain medical professionals bastardized the process. They started performing the procedures incorrectly to make money off people. Doctors started selling these DII cameras without explaining how to do the procedure. The fact is that it isn’t about the camera; it is about how the procedure is conducted.

How the Procedure Works

If the procedure isn’t done correctly, the results mean nothing. The room, which the DII camera is in, needs to be kept at 68 degrees Fahrenheit. The room has to be this cold because blood will leave your extremities (fingers, toes, face, breasts), and flow towards your internal organs. If there is cancerous tissue or a tumor in a breast, blood will flow to it and the camera will show that on the scan.

Other Uses for Thermography

With thermography, you don’t have to worry about radiation damaging your body. It is a private, quick and easy scan that should be done sooner rather than later. Early detection is key! Thermography can also scan for prostate problems as well. By scanning the lymphatic system, the practitioner can identify certain referral patterns that are linked to irregularities with the prostate. Additionally, thermography can be used to check for irregularities with the thyroid, back pain, or hormonal imbalances.

There are many thermography places around the country. Make sure that it is reputable and that they are doing procedures correctly. Do your research and you’ll find some great places!

October is National Breast Cancer Month and we want you all to know that there are natural ways to fight breast cancer. Last year we had several articles about how to perform a self-checkup, and why thermography is better than mammograms. This year we want to give you some information about Fibroadenomas, which not every woman may know about.

What Are Fibroadenomas?

Discovering a lump on your breast can be a terrifying experience. Thoughts of breast cancer start circulating and you break out in a panic. Not all lumps or tumors are necessarily cancerous, though. A common type of noncancerous (benign) tumor is known as a fibroadenoma. Even though fibroadenomas are not life threatening, they may still require some sort of treatment. They are most commonly found in young women and tend to shrink or disappear with no treatment, especially after menopause. Usually 1-2 centimeters in size, they don’t tend to cause pain; rather, one can feel like a small marble under the skin.

What Causes Fibroadenomas?

The exact cause of fibroadenomas is uncertain, but health professionals believe that hormones such as estrogen may play a role in the development and growth. Other professionals attribute the development of fibroadenomas in young women under the age of 20 to oral contraceptives, as they can alter the hormonal balance. Some other causes are listed below:

 • During pregnancy
 • Oral contraceptives (taken before age 20)
 • Certain foods (such as stimulants)
 • Hormonal imbalance

Characteristics Of Fibroadenomas

 • Easily moved
 • Firm or rubbery
 • Round and with smooth borders
 • Painless

Natural Remedies

 • Since some experts believe that certain stimulants like coffee, soft drinks, tea, or chocolate may lead to the development of fibroadenomas, it may be beneficial to avoid these foods. There is no scientific evidence to support the fact that avoiding these foods may decrease breast symptoms, but you may want to experiment if you have food sensitivities.
 • Related to diet, it is beneficial to avoid meat, as most commercial meats contain added hormones that can alter the hormonal balance in a woman. Try switching to a more plant-based lifestyle, where the focus is on organic fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, legumes, and whole grains.
 • Iodine deficiency may play a role in fibroadenoma development. When the body is low in iodine, breast tissue can become more sensitive to estrogen, thus causing fibroadenoma growth. Try eating iodine-rich foods like cranberries, bananas, prunes, green beans, strawberries, or sea vegetables like kelp, dulse, or alaria.
 • Since too much estrogen can lead to the growth of fibroadenomas, it may be beneficial to perform a liver detox to rid the body of excess androgens and estrogens. You can also take a natural B-vitamin complex supplement because it has antioxidants that work to regulate the menstrual cycle and reduce excess androgens in the adrenal glands.
 • Some herbs are beneficial for regulating hormones in the body. Try experimenting with milk thistle, evening primrose oil, false unicorn root, or paeonia to help regulate hormones.
 • Stress or sleep deprivation can affect fibroadenomas in a negative way, which is why it is paramount to keep stress levels down. To help naturally lower stress, you may want to try participating in stress-relieving techniques such as yoga, Tai Chi, meditation, deep breathing, or acupuncture. Acupuncture can be especially helpful because it helps to improve circulation and establish healthy chi within the body.

]]>

Most females in the Western world have been instructed by doctors to regularly come in for annual checkups. Along with the recommended annual physical and Pap smear, they are also encouraged to undergo a mammogram. What the doctors don’t tell women is that mammograms are not conducive to bodily health.

A mammogram is an X-ray of the soft tissues of the breast. X-rays use radiation to create the image. The procedure of a mammogram, while the goal is to search for possible breast cancer, may actually be a cause of breast cancer in and of itself. Twenty percent of cancers are not detected by mammography.

If most breast cancers are diagnosed from the manual exam, and mammograms are known for their false negatives and false positives, what is the true benefit of exposing yourself to the radiation received from the mammogram itself?

Natural Alternatives

 • A monthly breast exam, performed at home, is as reliable, possibly more reliable, than a mammogram. Look to our article about How to Check Your Partner for Breast Cancer for help performing the at-home exam.
 • Thermography is one of the best ways to examine for breast cancer.

In conclusion, for women who believe in mammograms, your decision is not a right one or wrong one as it is your choice under free will. We are just providing options that are not going to harm your future.

The female breast’s primary function is for breastfeeding. The human female breast is how human babies receive nourishment. There was and is a dual benefit for the breastfeeding mother and the breastfed child. Breastfeeding does help to keep a woman’s breasts healthy; after all, they were made for that activity. Breastfeeding also constitutes obeisance to God or Nature, because again, the breasts were made for breastfeeding.

Because the breasts are located at the 4th Chakra, the breasts record energy; they record emotions. Heartache and pain as well as grief are stored in the tissues of the breasts as well as the 4th Chakra itself, which is a disk that holds information.

Negative emotion stored in a woman is the energetic causative factor that causes tumors and cysts to develop in the breasts. Basically, women are holding things (negative emotion) in and not releasing them. They are not ‘getting things off their chest’ so to speak.

The breasts are living glands. They need to breathe, they need oxygen; they need nourishment; they need attention and care.

Harmful Breast Treatment

Tattoos

Breast area contains very sensitive tissue. It is also lymphatic tissue. When using permanent ink on the soft breast skin, slowly but surely the ink (usually man-made, synthetic and very harmful ink) will enter into the blood stream. So not only is it tacky to have graffiti tattooed on the breast, it is also unhealthy (unless henna is being used for tattooing purposes).

Mammograms

A mammogram is “an X-ray film of the soft tissues of the breast.” X-rays utilize radiation. It’s not a good idea to subject the soft tissues of the breast to radiation.

Mastectomies

Having a breast removed to prevent cancer is the equivalent of throwing the luggage out into the ocean in order to save the ship. Some women are told by their doctor that the best way to prevent breast cancer is to simply not have any breasts at all. In other words, have a mastectomy before cancer develops. This is not a solution-it’s fear based behavior that can have other negative side effects.

Breast Diseases and Health Issues

Mastitis

Mastitis is inflammation of the breast, usually caused by mucus and mucus is the result of an acidic body predicated upon an acidic diet-one that’s high in meat and dairy products as well as refined grains and starches and acidic beverages such as soda pop.

Many times mastitis denotes that an injury is present. The pus actually serves to help out in the situation. There are natural remedies for mastitis just as there are for every other breast complaint. Keep reading!

Stretch Marks on the Breasts

Stretch marks on the breasts denote that the breasts have grown faster than the skin could keep up with. This exponential growth of the breasts in most cases is caused by the hormones placed in food.

Uneven Breasts

Uneven breasts have become very common. Because women are more self-conscious than males are on average, this is a major problem for many women who experience this occurrence.

However, such size differentials are perfectly normal. Indeed, one breast is naturally larger than the other. The left breast is usually larger than the right. Interestingly, in men, the left testicle hangs lower than the right one.

Paget’s Disease

Paget’s disease, also known as “nipple cancer”, is an inflammatory malignant neoplasm of the nipple and areola that is usually associated with carcinoma in deeper breast structures. It represents only a small percentage of breast cancers and usually begins in the nipple and spread to the areola.

Breast Cancer

Breast cancer is the second most common form of cancer in American women (behind skin cancer). The chance of a woman in the U.S. developing invasive breast cancer at some time in her life is about 1 in 8 (12%).

In 2008, an estimated 182,460 cases of invasive breast cancer were diagnosed among women in the United States. According to the American Cancer Society, in addition to invasive breast cancer, there were 67,770 new cases of carcinoma in situ (CIS) in 2008. CIS is non-invasive and is the earliest form of breast cancer.

Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women, exceeded only by lung cancer. The chance that breast cancer will be responsible for a woman’s death is about 1 in 35 (about 3%).

At this time there are about 2.5 million breast cancer survivors in the United States.

Sagging Breasts

Sagging is a natural part of aging. No matter how firm, toned, and defined they may be, one day they will give in to the gravitational pull of gravity and sag.

Many women complain of sagging breasts as a result of breastfeeding. For many women, constantly breastfeeding takes a toll on the shape, tone, and definition of the breasts. For some women, breastfeeding does the reverse and helps to tone them and give them definition.

The cells of the breasts have intelligence and also store memory, so the breasts can be trained to respond and the best way to do this is via mental science (visualization), constantly seeing the breasts in the light you desire them to be.

There are certain bras out there that can help to train the breasts to regain their natural composition. Remember, the situation with sagging breasts will differ from woman to woman. Your breasts will not automatically sag if you breast feed a child.

Caked Nipples

This condition results from breast-feeding and is very common. The nipples and areola section becomes so dry from the contact of saliva and skin that the skin and nipples become dry and thus crack which can be very painful.

Gynecomastia

This is a condition when men develop breasts. It is becoming more common, likely due to poor diet and overeating, excess body fat, genetic predisposition, androgen hormone consumption (anabolic steroid use by bodybuilders), and consumption of soy due to the estrogen hormonal precursor soy contains.

Soy is not just a common item found in vegan and vegetarian circles. Soy is used in many non-vegan and non-vegetarian items. Along with corn, it is the most used and genetically engineered crop in the United States.

Gynecomastia usually occurs when males are pre-teens and well into the teen years. It is reported that 65% of boys age 14 have them.

And because males can develop breasts, males too can develop breast cancer and die from it. It is reported that each year in the United States 1,700 males develop breast cancer and more than 300 of them die from breast cancer.

Natural Healing Solutions

If you can find a magnetic bra, that is also a good natural healing solution. Magnetic therapy is very conducive for healing purposes, especially where there are tumors or cysts.

Individual herbs that naturally help to enlarge the female breasts include Saw Palmetto and Pueraria Mirifica. A woman would need to take at least 6 capsules daily of Saw Palmetto and 3-6 capsules of Pueraria. Both herbs could be taken together or separately, whichever works best.

And remember, the Magnetic bra can also help to enlarge the breasts as well as mental science: using daily visualization exercises (seeing your breasts or bust the size you desire them to be). Check out our Mental Science Manual e-book to learn more about the dynamics of mental science and how you can use mental science for healing purposes.

The individual herb Honeysuckle is great for all breast complaints.

Other individual herbs that will benefit the female breasts include:

Progesterone creams can be massaged into the skin of the breasts whereby the cream will enter the bloodstream.

If you’re a breastfeeding mother and suffer from caked nipples, apply some botanical oil (olive oil, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, or jojoba oil) or shea butter to the nipple(s) throughout the day as needed for relief. Aloe vera gel may also provide relief, so may calendula gel or cream. However, the oils are better than gels and creams as they are foods and ideally we should be able to eat anything we put on our bodies.

If you’re a breastfeeding mother and are not producing enough milk, the following herbs have milk increasing properties: Bamboo, Red Raspberry Leaf, Blessed Thistle, Basil, Coriander, Cardamom, Saw Palmetto Berry, Caraway Seed, Black Seed, Dill, Fennel Seed, Flax Seed, Anise, and Fenugreek Seed. Most of the foregoing herbs are included in Dherbs.com Galactagogue Formula. Galactogogue is an agent that increases and enhances the quantity and quality of breast milk.

If you’re a breast feeding mother and desire to dry up your breast milk the following herbs will help this process: Sage and Black Walnut Hulls. Ideally, a woman should breastfeed for 2 years or up to the time the child’s teeth come in. When a baby’s teeth come in, it’s a sign the baby is ready for solid foods. However, some babies may still desire and require breast milk for psychological reasons despite their teeth coming in.

If you suffer from mastitis, especially while breastfeeding, start consuming Mullein leaf tea (3-5 cups daily). You don’t want to breastfeed if pus is coming out of the nipples. Instead make an alternative milk to feed the baby while you’re healing your breasts.

To keep your breasts toned, firm, elastic, and defined, periodically massage them with an edible or botanical oil (olive oil, jojoba oil, coconut oil, etc.).

Males dealing with gynecomastia should change their diet, preferably to a mostly raw foods and vegan diet. Soy-based products should be eaten at a minimum if eaten at all. Herbs like Sarsaparilla, Licorice Root, and Yohimbe Bark provide natural testosterone precursors that help with the increase in production of male hormones).

Males dealing with breast cancer should follow the same advice recommended for women with breast cancer, except that a man should perform the Total Male Cleanse.

Dherbs Solutions

Dherbs.com compounds that help repair damaged breasts and return them to a state of optimal health and well being include:

If a woman is suffering from breast tumors or cysts, or breast cancer or Paget’s disease, I would suggest the woman perform the Full Body Cleanse followed by the Total Female Cleanse followed by the 10 Day Electric Greens Combo Regimen

During these cleanses the woman should drink a cup per day of Dherbs.com Female Health Tea She should also apply Female Breast Oil in addition to either Healing Facial and Body Oil or Oxy-Oil It’s her choice. Either one will work well with the Female Breast Oil which should be used in the early part of the day and the Healing Skin Oil or Oz-Oil at nighttime.
