It’s easy to say that a nutritious bowl of raw vegetables is nutritious. How do you turn a bunch of raw vegetables into a delicious dish, though? Some people say that it’s easier said than done, but say, “No problem.” If you have some vegetables and don’t want to eat another salad on the raw vegan diet, a great alternative is a raw soup. Additionally, this soup is a great alternative if you have extra zucchini don’t want to eat zoodle dishes any more.

Just like making a smoothie, all you have to do is cut up your vegetables and blend them together. Unlike a smoothie, you will add a few things that would not taste great slurping through a straw. For example, this raw soup contains fresh dill, garlic cloves, coconut aminos, and sea salt. The best advice we can give you is to use the fresh dill, not dried dill. The soup will be much less aromatic and flavorful without that fresh herb. We promise you that it is 100% worth it to seek out fresh dill, even if you have the dried version in your spice rack.

One piece of advice that we have for you is that you may want to wait to make this soup until the weather is a little warmer. It can be very refreshing when the sun is out. A pro raw vegan tip is to blend the soup for a few minutes on high to naturally warm it up. Don’t worry, this does not cook the vegetables; rather, the high-speed revolutions can naturally warm up the blended mixture. This is just something to consider if you take a liking to raw soups like this one.

Year after year, more and more people continue to embrace plant-based diets. A 2021 survey found that 65% of people in the United States consumed plant-based meat alternatives in the previous year. Some people go plant-based to feel healthier and others do it for environmental reasons. Whatever your reason for wanting to eat more plant-based meals, we support you!

You have most likely seen plant-based meat options in restaurants and grocery stores. Health experts project that the global market value of meat substitutes will reach more than 35 billion dollars by 2027. Currently, the U.S. market for plant-based foods is worth seven billion dollars alone. Impossible burgers, black bean patties, Beyond sausages, and more are commonplace in today’s culinary scene. If you want to be healthy, though, relying on those vegan options is not the way to go.

The unfortunate reality is that those vegan meat substitutes are appealing as “much healthier” alternatives to meat. Those lab-created foods are rich in lots of processed ingredients, preservatives, and sodium, so overconsumption can lead to health complications. If you truly want to reap the health benefits of eating more plant-based meal options, it is better to eat more fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and whole grains. The following recipes focus on real foods and we hope they inspire your next summer barbecue.

Summer translates to carefree fun in the sun, outdoor activities, and social gatherings, but it also invites unhealthy cravings. Foods that people consider classic refreshments, snacks, and desserts rack up excess calories. If the goal is to stay slim and summertime fine, the last thing you want is to accumulate waste in the body. Unfortunately, summer snacks and drinks can easily make that happen.

That’s where detox iced teas come enter the equation. Sip rejuvenating beverages that enhance hydration efforts and simultaneously aid with flushing harmful toxins out of the body. Regular consumption of these detox iced teas may aid weight loss efforts by increasing metabolism. It’s important to note that drinking detox teas and maintaining an unhealthy diet will not yield positive results. The teas do not simply cancel out poor lifestyle choices and unhealthy eating habits. Losing weight requires a multi-faceted approach, and these teas merely enhance weight loss efforts.

How Can Teas Boost Weight Loss?

One of the primary compounds of green tea leaves is caffeine. It acts as a mild stimulant that works to improve exercise performance and fat burning. According to research, the most impressive aspect of green tea’s nutritional profile is the antioxidant content. Researchers confirmed that drinking green tea works to slowly increase blood antioxidant levels. Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) is the standout antioxidant in green tea and it has been known to boost metabolism.

In order to burn fat, the body has to break down fat cells and move them into the bloodstream. EGCG works to inhibit an enzyme that breaks down norepinephrine, a hormone involved in fat burning. By inhibiting this enzyme, norepinephrine increases to enhance the breakdown of fat cells. Caffeine may also enhance the efforts of EGCG on fat cells. Additionally, EGCG increases the body’s ability to burn more calories, even at resting metabolic rate. Most studies confirmed that people who drank green tea experienced a 3-4% increase in metabolism. If you follow a 2,000 calorie per day diet, that translates to about 60-80 calories.

We gathered three impressive detox iced tea recipes that can enhance your weight loss efforts. Sip them throughout summer and let us know how you enjoy them in the comments.

If you could concentrate summer into a single bowl, it would be this recipe. The sweet, refreshing mango pairs beautifully with the creamy avocado. Tomatoes and fresh lemon juice bring much needed acid to the party. Finally, the brightness from the red onion and cilantro set this salad on another level.

Do you know why this is the perfect salad to make as summer comes to a close? Well, it’s bright, beautiful, aromatic, and consists of various complementing flavors and textures. Some might even say that this zesty salad is addictive. Once you have one bite, it’s impossible to not come back for more. The colors alone make you return for more bites.

When it comes to salad preparation, there are several items that you should cut exactly the same. Ideally, cut the red onion and cilantro very fine, and make sure to mince the garlic. Cut the avocado and mango into larger cubes because they are the featured ingredients. You can cut the tomato how you like, but it’s better to cut them into thinner wedges. We do not advise dicing them finely. Once you prep all of the ingredients, toss them in a bowl so they can get to know each other. Let the salad sit for like 15 minutes so the flavors can intensify and then enjoy.

Summer brings excessive heat and pesky mosquitos, but it also features an array of stone fruit varieties. Nectarines, plums, peaches, apricots, and cherries are readily available in grocery stores and farmer’s markets all summer. Not to mention, they are the freshest between late May and late September. Get your hands on them before the summer is over. While you’re at it, make this sorbet!

This sorbet calls for three juicy stone fruit varieties: plums, peaches, and nectarines. Some people like to peel these fruits, but you don’t have to for this recipe since everything will be blended. Now, the nectarines and plums offer a wonderfully tart flavor that balances their sweet nature. The teaspoon of lemon juice is just enough to enhance that tartness. You won’t pucker after every spoonful because the agave helps to mellow the subtle sour.

You can make this ice cream two different ways, but it may be easier to use an ice cream maker. Let it churn until you get a lovely sorbet. If you don’t have an ice cream maker, you can pour the blended stone fruit mixture into a freezer-safe container. Place it in the freezer and stir it around every 45 minutes. The second method takes much longer, but it yields the same flavor no matter how you make it.

What a treat it is to be able to enjoy the juicy, colored heirloom tomato varieties that thrive during summer. If you have never eaten an heirloom tomato, do yourself a favor and go get one right now. Seriously, stop reading this, go to the store and buy some, come back, and just bite into them. Heirloom tomatoes offer an intense flavor because they have the same traits as the plants that came before them. They are unaltered because farmers use the same seeds of the same plant for generations.

The sad reality is that it’s rare to see heirloom tomatoes in the average grocery store. This is because they bruise easily and don’t have a long shelf-life. Additionally, they look strange and customers tend to avoid odd-looking produce item when they buy groceries. When you buy heirloom tomatoes, you have to enjoy them within a few days or they will go bad.

For this salad, try your best to seek out multi-colored heirloom tomatoes because they taste amazing and look beautiful. You can also purchase colored tomatoes that are not heirloom if you find them in your store. You can even use regular tomatoes if you can’t find heirloom varieties. The juicy sweetness of heirloom varieties is the perfect balance for the herbaceous, garlicky dressing. It’s a thick dressing, but that’s how it’s supposed to be. We hope you love the salad!

The heat of summer can often inspire general fatigue. All you want to do is live in a safe haven from the dry or humid heat. Often times, this is your home, which begs an important question. Why should you spend time baking food in the oven or spend hours over the stove cooking meals? Not only does this make your air-conditioning work harder, but it also causes you to lose interest in the hot food. What can be done?

If you’re looking to beat summer heat, try your hand at some no-cook recipes. Instead of a hearty stew, consider a refreshing salad with summer fruits and vegetables. Avoid heavy dairy desserts that cause bloating and opt for homemade sorbets that cool you off. Lettuce wraps, smoothies, raw soups, and vegetable noodle recipes are lighter, cooling meal options. They won’t weigh you down or cause sweating, unless you kick up the spice level

The following recipes are all raw vegan, meaning that they are great for anyone participating in one of the many Dherbs cleanses. If you are not ready to transition to this type of eating plan, feel free to add pre-cooked legumes to your salads or entrees. If you opt for canned legumes, please pay attention to ingredients labels. Many of these canned varieties can easily cause people to exceed the recommended daily amount of sodium. Fortunately, there are sodium-free or low-sodium varieties that are much healthier options.

To start you on your no-cook summer meal marathon, here are seven recipes that will keep you feeling fresh in the summer heat.

Kale Salad With Almonds, Cranberries And Apples

Boost your nutrient intake by enjoying this raw vegan kale salad that’s perfectly balanced with apples, cranberries, and a tart vinaigrette. Kale is naturally bitter and has an assertive flavor. For this reason, sweet ingredients like apples and dried cranberries work well in kale salads.

Peach Perfect Detox Smoothie With Ginger

A smoothie a day is not a cliché, or at least that’s what they say. Anyway, there’s no time to delay! This smoothie bursts with a tropical, zesty flavor that represents the refreshing flavors of summer.

When the weather is warm, you don’t want to eat a heavy meal that weighs you down. The goal is not to sweat after enjoying a meal! That’s why these raw vegan lettuce wraps are perfect for warmer summer days. You can enjoy two or four of these without feeling bloated or tired. Allow the fresh, crispy vegetables to nourish and energize your body while filling you up at the same time.

These wraps are all about simplicity. They are light, clean, and easy to make. We have a list of ingredients that go in the wraps, but you can use raw vegan ingredients that you enjoy. If you want to shred some zucchini and use it in place of the cucumber, make that ingredient swap. You can add sliced bell peppers if you want a complementary sweet and crispy ingredients. If you have time on your hands and want to make a raw vegan hummus recipe (click here), spread that on the lettuce leaves and before you add the rest of the ingredients.

The kicker in this recipe is the fresh radish. Because of the inherent peppery flavor, it’s important to slice the radishes very thinly. That’s why it’s best to use a mandolin instead of a knife. And be careful with those fingers! Lastly, this recipe calls for butter lettuce, but you don’t have to use them if you have another lettuce on hand. Romaine, red or green leaf lettuce, or even cabbage leaves are great alternatives.
