Yes, the carbon powder is messy but it is sooo worth it. I just make sure to keep rinsing my mouth out with water to get most of the carbon out of my mouth. Sometimes it gets in the little pockets of your mouth and can cause use to cough/choke a little bit because they are so tiny and they tickle the back of your throat; so rinse well. *
