Cancer

Cancer can happen to anyone at any age and it can occur at any place in the body.  Characterized by out-of-control cell growth and abnormal cells that damage regular bodily tissues, Cancer makes it difficult for the body to function properly.  Cancer is not a singular disease, rather, there are many types of Cancer.  At the same time, different Cancers are alike in certain ways, but how fast they spread and grow will differ.  The most common types of Cancer include Prostate Cancer, Colon Cancer, Breast Cancer, Testicular Cancer, Lung Cancer, Lymphoma, Ovarian Cancer, and Bone Cancer, among many others.  Even though Cancer is the second leading cause of death in America, many people survive it because of new cancer studies, research, and treatment options.

Because there are so many different types and stages of Cancer, the symptoms will vary from person to person.  The symptoms also depend on where the cancer is located.  For example, Skin Cancer may cause a mole on the skin to change appearance, while Prostate or Bladder Cancers may cause infrequent or frequent urination.  Below is a list of general symptoms that are associated with, but not indicative of, cancer.

  • Fatigue
  • Swollen lymph nodes (but this is common if the body is fighting an infection)
  • Lump or thick area that you can feel under the skin
  • Change in bowel or bladder habits
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Skin changes (such as yellowing, darkening, or redness; changes in mole appearances)
  • Constant indigestion after a meal
  • Joint or muscle pain that is unexplained
  • Unexplained bleeding or bruising
  • Hoarseness
  • Weight changes (loss or gain)

Cancer is caused by cells that have DNA mutations.  The predominant cause is the uncontrollable growth of these mutated cells without dying.  Cells normally go through a process called apoptosis, where cells grow, separate, and die.  If this system doesn't function properly, cancer cells, which aren't programmed to die, will keep growing out of control. The causes of Cancer are plenty, including immune system dysfunction, bacteria, viruses, lifestyle choices, and genes.  If cancer cells grow they can form a mass, which is known as a tumor.  Tumors can inhibit regular bodily functions, primarily with the nervous, circulatory, or digestive systems. The type of cancer will be determined by the kind of cells that happen during this growth process.  The following list contains general causes that can result in various cancers.

  • Cells that grow, multiply, and do not die
  • Bacteria
  • Viruses
  • Genetics (family history of Cancer)
  • Gene mutations
  • Immune system dysfunction
  • Poor dietary of lifestyle choices

Dherbs Approach...adjusting your diet is always key!

Depending on the type and stage of Cancer, you may have more success with certain natural remedies.  The earlier you catch the Cancer, the better chance you have of ridding it from your body before it spreads.  These are not surefire cures, but some of the following have been known to completely change a person's health for the better.

  • Changing your diet is very important when diagnosed with Cancer.  It is best to start eating organic, plant-based foods and drinking raw, fresh juices.  Eliminating processed foods, fried foods, meats, dairy products, junk foods, soy products, and genetically modified foods from your diet can greatly benefit your health.  Cutting out all those bad foods helps the plant-based foods and raw juices deliver the essential nutrients your body needs.  Additionally, you can drink alkaline water, which helps establish a neutral pH balance in the body.
  • Coffee enemas are recommended for people who have Cancer because it helps with the detoxification process.  We have an article about enemas and how you can administer them here.  Keeping the body free of toxins is paramount to Cancer patients, which is why you can also participate in a cleanse to help keep your system healthy.  Our Full Body Cleanse can help you naturally get rid of toxins through your major eliminative channels, as well as cleanse your major organs and systems.  Depending on the type of Cancer you have, you may need to look into our other cleanses to target the affected area.
  • When it comes to patients with Breast Cancer, Brain Cancer, Colon Cancer, Pancreatic Cancer, Prostate Cancer, and Stomach Cancer, Frankincense oil therapy has been known to be very effective.  Frankincense oil has potential cancer-killing properties that are said to influence your genes and promote healing.  To administer this therapy, rub a few drops of Frankincense essential oil on your neck three times a day.  You should also mix 3 drops of Frankincense with 8oz of water and drink that mixture three times a day as well.
  • The benefits of curcumin have been widely examined for their anticancer properties.  Curcumin is most commonly present in turmeric, and this herb has been known to have the most positive effects on patients with Breast Cancer, Stomach Cancer, Bowel Cancer, and Skin Cancer.  Recent studies have shown that turmeric can help reduce the size of tumors and even kill cancer cells.  Using fresh, organic turmeric is the best way to reap its benefits.
  • Because people with Cancer can often develop digestive issues, it can be beneficial to eat probiotic foods, or natural probiotic supplements.  Probiotics are microorganisms that promote healthy gut flora.  Since 80% of your immune system is located in your gut, probiotics can boost your immune system, thus helping to reduce tumors.  Additionally, probiotics help establish better digestive function and help promote healthy bowel movements.  Great probiotic foods include sauerkraut, fermented pickles, fermented vegetables, kimchi, and kefir.
  • Mushrooms have been used in Chinese healing practices for nearly 4,000 years, and the cordycep and reishi species have had positive effects on some cancer patients.  These mushroom varieties can help increase your survival rate, reduce tumor size, and boost your immune system.  The results will vary depending on which extracts you choose and how concentrated they are.
  • People with Cancer sometimes incorporate meditation or prayer into their lives.  Making peace with yourself and the Cancer in your body can sometimes help people have a more positive outlook on life and it can even help with the healing process.  If you have a positive mental attitude, that can help the healing process.  Try to practice stress-reducing exercises like yoga, Tai Chi, meditation, and even schedule massages or acupuncture to relieve stress and pain.  Since stress can have negative effects on your health, eliminating that can help with the healing process.
  • Oxygen therapy and hyperbaric chambers are options you may consider exploring if you have Cancer.  Oxygen deficiency is one of the root causes of cancer, and that causes the body to be more acidic.  Dr. Warburg noted that cancer cells do not breathe oxygen and cannot survive in the presence of high oxygen levels, i.e. an alkaline state.  A hyperbaric chamber contains air pressure that is 2.5 times greater than the normal pressure in our atmosphere.  When your body is in this chamber, your blood carries more oxygen to the many organs and tissues in the body.  People claim that this therapy has healed infected wounds, radiation injuries, and even certain types of cancer.  It isn't very mainstream, but it may be a natural remedy worth exploring.
