I have bought most of your e-books and recording and just want to tell you how enlightening all the material has been. While reading, the mental science book you talked about a poverty conscious mindset and how many leaders of spiritual movements such as Christianity and Nation of Islam used manipulation to keep their followers in bondage. One of the specific things you mentioned was that leaders would tell their followers they have to give their money to the institution even if it was money they had to use to pay the rent mortgage. My question is: how does that differ from a tithe and what do you think about authors, other metaphysical teachings of the principle of giving as a secret to prosperity? I know in Catherine Ponder's books she mentioned that 10 is the number of increase based on ancient teachings and that we should give systematically to demonstrate our faith in an abundance universe. I have also read many authors who say that same things. What is your take on it?

I believe in giving but it must be from the heart. Many people don't give from the heart but from FEAR! Or, they feel compelled to give and this is not giving freely. It's quid pro quo giving meaning "I'm giving because I want something in return" i.e. Recognition, to be or get in good graces with God, etc. I'm covering tithing in my new manual "The Money Manual." Tithing is just 10% of something, not necessarily money. Tithing can be 10% of your food, time, services, etc. Giving is okay but folks should not give to others without first giving to self for charity starts at home. Poor people should not be giving charity in the form of money for if God needs a dollar God is in worse shape than his poor followers. It is the organization asking for the money and doing so in the name of God. They collect money in the name of God and thus exploit people in the name of God.
